The formula for a trapezoid relates the area A, the two bases, a and b, and the height, h.

A=h (a+b) 2

Solve for b.

A.b= 2A h +a
B.b= 2A−a h
C.b= Ah 2 −a
D.b= 2A h −a

The formula of area of trapezoid is given by

A = (h (a+b))/(2)

Where a and b are the two bases and h is the height and we have to solve for b .

TO solve for b, first we need to get rid of the denominator 2 by multiplying whole equation by 2, that is

2A = (a+b)h

Now we need to get rid of h and for that we have to divide both sides by h, that is

(2A)/(h) = a+b

Now we need to get rid of a by subtracting a to both sides.

b = (2A)/(h)-a

Therefore correct option is D .
