Christopher Columbus was a Genoese explorer, navigator, and colonist who completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain. He voyaged to find a direct water route west from Europe to Asia but accidentally stumbled upon America.

He strike a deal with Spanish monarchs of money and supplies and that he would claim land for Spain.
