Tim has 22 quarters.

Step-by-step explanation

Suppose, Tim has
x number of quarters.

As he has 3 more dimes than quarters and 6 fewer nickels than quarters, so the number of dimes
= x+3 and the number of nickels
= x-6

Given that, the total number of coins is 63. So, the equation will be.....

x+(x+3)+(x-6)= 63\\ \\ 3x-3= 63\\ \\ 3x= 66\\ \\ x=(66)/(3)= 22

So, Tim has 22 quarters.
