5(x−10)=275
(5)(x)+(5)(−10)=275(Distribute)
5x+−50=275
5x−50=275
5x−50+50=275+50
5x=325
5x5=3255
x=65

1. Disturbing 5(x-10) so it equals 5x-50, giving you 5x-50=275
2. Add 50 to both sides of the equation, giving you 5x=325
3. Divide both sides of the equation by 5, giving you x=65
