For each gym membership sold, the gym keeps $42, and the employee who sold it gets $8. What is the commission the employee earned as a percentage of the total cost of the gym membership?

followup: If an employee sells a family pass for $135, what is the amount of the commission they get to keep?

i have asked this ? multiple times but ppls answers have been wrong

Answer:

1st question = 16%

2nd question = $21.60

Explanation:

I don't know why the other person put 50 that makes no sense since it's asking for a percentage

the full price would be $50, since the total is split of $8 to the employee and $42 to the gym (42 + 8 = 50)

so then you find what percentage of 50 is 8, which is 16% :>

and so this means the employee gets 16% of the income

so then for the second question, you'd then find 16% of $135, which is $21.60 :)
