-x-8x-5=-8

-9x-5=-8

Let's distribute!

(3x - 3) - (4x + 2) = 8x - 8 Combine like terms

(-x) - 5 = 8x - 8

8-5 = 8x + x

3 = 9x

3/9 = x

1/3 = x
