It is given that Alicia drives to work at a speed of 45 miles per hour. It is also given that it takes her about 2 hours and 15 minutes to get to work. We know that 2 hours and 15 minutes is the same as 2.25 hours. This is because a quarter of an hour is 15 minutes and in decimal system we represent a quarter as 0.25.

Thus, now that we know the speed and the time, we can easily find the distance to be as:

Distance=Speed* Time=45* 2.25=101.25 miles

Now, we know that Alicia's car gets 25 miles in a gallon. Thus, for a distance of 101.25 miles, the amount of gas Alicia will have to use is given simply by:

(101.25)/(25)=4.05 gallons

Now, the price of a gallon of gas is $2.75. Thus, a the amount for 4.05 gallons of gas will be $
2.75* 4.05=11.1375\approx 11.14 Dollars.

Thus Alicia spends $11.14 on gas to get to work. Of all the given options, Option A is the correct one.
