What are point and shoot cameras? How do they differ from SLR cameras?

Answer:

Point and shoot cameras do not allow for manual interference, and everything is automatic. The difference between point and shoot and SLR is that what is seen in the viewfinder is not an exact replica of the image that will be taken in point and shoot cameras.

Point and shoot cameras are strictly automatic. They do not give you the option of manual mode to adjust shutter and aperture.
