If ad= 20 and ac=3x+4,find the value of x.

We have AD = DC

Thus, AC = AD + AD = 20 + 20 = 40

We have:

3x + 4 = 40

3x = 40 - 4

3x = 36

x = 36 / 3

x = 12

AD= 20

AC= 40
