Can someone answer this for me?

When we divide 1 by three, the result is 0 with reminder 1. So, the number starts with 0.???

We keep going, since the reminder was 1, we now add a zero and divide 10 by 3. The result is 3 with reminder 1: the number starts with 0.3???

But now we actually repeat the second step, because the reminder is again 1, so we add another zero and divide again 10 by 3, and the result is 3 with reminder 1.

Can you see the pattern? We are constantly dividing 10 by 3, and the result is always 3 with reminder 1. The result is always 3 and the reminder is always 1, which means that the next division will still be 10 divided by 3, and so on.

So, 1/3 is a repeating decimal number:

`(1)/(3) = 0.\overline{3} = 0.333\ldots`
