Answer:

The number of books in the math section are:

12662 books.

Explanation:

The total number of books in the store are: 75972

Now, it is given that:

  • The science section represents 1/3 of the total books.

i.e. The number of science books are: (1/3)×75972

= 25324 books.

  • Also,of the remaining books, 75% are business.

This means that the Remaining books are:

Total books-Number of science books

= 75972-25324

= 50648

i.e.

Number of business books are: 75% of 50648

= 0.75× 50648

= 37986

  • Hence, the number of books in the math section are: Total books-Number of books in the other two sections

= 75972-(37986+ 25324)

= 12662 books.

Given that total number of books in the book store = 75972

Given that total number of books in science section =
(1)/(3) rd of total books =
(1)/(3)*75972 = 25324

Then remaining number of books = 75972 - 25324 = 50648

Given that 75% of the remaining books are in business section = 75% of 50648 = 0.75*50648 = 37986

Then number of books in the math section = 50648 - 37986 = 12662

Hence final answer is 12662 books in the math section.
