Please answer quickly:

In the following equation, a, b, c, and x are constants. In other words, a, b, c, and x should be treated like numbers. y is the variable. Solve the equation for y. SHOW EACH STEP!!

You need to have variables one one side and constants on the other. ax - ax + by = c - ax by = c - ax by/b = (c - ax)/b y = (c - ax)/b

You said . . . . . ax + by = c

Subtract ' ax ' from each side . . . by = c - ax

Divide each side by ' b ' . . . y = (c - ax) / b
