Why do politicians and the media need each other

People learn information about politics from media, tv, as well newspapers. These sources provide information as well influence "voters" which story they believe is the "best". Without the media the politicians don't have a platform to get the word around about them. Without politicians the media site isn't receiving as much clicks as they would receive if they had an article about a politician.

Politicians need the media to communicate with citizens. Media organisations rely heavily on political stories as a key source of news and commentary. The more that media platforms and outlets have proliferated – to the point where we inhabit a 24-hour real-time news culture with global reach and influence – the more mutually dependent the relationship becomes.
