You can use your hands for gestures (it should be smooth and able to move with the flow of whatever you are talking about, especially if you are telling a story) as you are talking and give them rest in between ( just drop them to the side if you are standing and put them on your thigh if you are sitting ). You can also place them on the podium if one is available.
