(X+4)/3=2
-4. -4
X/3=(-2)
x3. x3
X=6

Step one: isolate x
- take away 4. What you do to one side, you must do to the other. This leaves you with [x/3=(-2)] because 2-4=(-2)
- multiply by 3. This gets rid of the three so x is by itself. Once again, what you do to one side of the equal sign, you must do to the other. It leaves you with [x=6] because 3x(-2)=6

(x + 4)/(3) = 2 \\ \\ \\ \text{ Multiply by 3 on both sides, }\\ \\ \\ = > (x + 4)/(3) * 3 = 2 * 3 \\ \\ \\ \\ = > x + 4 = 6 \\ \\ \\ = > x = 6 - 4 \\ \\ \\ = > x = 2

Hence, value of x in the given equation is 2
