A parallelogram and a triangle have equal areas. the base and height of the parallelogram are 12 cm and 9 cm. if the base of the triangle is 36 cm, find its height

Area of parallelogram = base x height

= 12 x 9

= 108

Area of a triangle =
(1)/(2) · base · height

108 =
(1)/(2) · 36 · height

108 = 18 · height

6 = height

Answer: 6 cm
