again, let's change the mixed fractions to improper, and check the proportions for each.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{4(1)/(2)}\implies \cfrac{4\cdot 2+1}{2}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{9}{2}}~\hfill \stackrel{mixed}{1(1)/(3)}\implies \cfrac{1\cdot 3+1}{3}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{4}{3}} \\\\[-0.35em] \rule{34em}{0.25pt}\\\\ \cfrac{~~(9)/(2)~~}{(4)/(3)}=\cfrac{9}{6}\implies \cfrac{9}{2}\cdot \cfrac{3}{4}=\cfrac{3}{2}\implies \cfrac{27}{8}\\e \cfrac{3}{2}~~\bigotimes
