It not a right angle or an obtuse angle, so it has to be a acute angle, so angle x would be 50 or 55 degrees.

right angle:90 degrees.
obtuse angle: greater than 90 less than 180.
acute angle: less than 90 degrees.

The value of x in the figure is 50⁰

What is alternate interior angle?

Alternate interior angles are pairs of angles that are on the opposite sides of a transversal line and outside the lines it intersects. These angles are equal when the lines are parallel.

Other angles formed between parallel lines and a transversal include alternate interior angles, corresponding angles, and consecutive interior angles. These relationships hold when the lines are parallel.

From the figure

Given

Two parallel lines and a transversal.

x + 35 = 85(interior alternate angle postulate)

x = 85 - 35

x = 50⁰

The value of x in the figure is 50⁰
