Hi!

First, we can remove the parentheses.

-3 - i + 5 + 6i

Combine like terms

-3 + 5 - i + 6i

-i = -1i

-3 + 5 - 1i + 6i

Now to make it easier for you, I will add parentheses again.

(-3 + 5) + (-1i + 6i)

Solve inside the parentheses

(2) + (5i)

Remove the parentheses once more

2 + 5i

And there's your answer!

The answer is 2 + 5i
