Use PEMDAS:

P Parentheses first

E Exponents (ie Powers and Square Roots, etc.)

MD Multiplication and Division (left-to-right)

AS Addition and Subtraction (left-to-right)

and
a^(-1)=(1)/(a);\ a^(-n)=(1)/(a^3)

3^(-1)\cdot(4\cdot6)\cdot2^(-3)=(1)/(3)\cdot24\cdot(1)/(2^3)=(24)/(3)\cdot(1)/(8)=\\ot8^1\cdot(1)/(\\ot8_1)=1
