North America by the mid-1700’s consisted of three major regions: New England (five colonies), Middle Region (four colonies) and Chesapeake or Southern Region (four colonies). Similarities between them: 1. They all were getting away from the British monarchy. 2. All the colonies were founded by European settlers, but at the end, all colonies were ruled by British monarchy and British Law. 3. Their ports and trade prospered from the Atlantic trade network. 4. Better health and standard of living that their European counterparts.
