It provided the colonists with a temporary form of Parliamentary representation.

It represented an attempt to unify colonies and colonists against the Coercive Acts.

It showed that Parliament had failed to convince the colonists to remain in the British Empire.

The correct answer is: "It represented an attempt to unify colonies and colonists against the Coercive Acts".

At the First Continental Congress in 1774, representatives of the colonies met, in the early times of the American Revolution. It started as the response against the Intolerable Acts or Coercive Acts published by the British, enacted as a punishment after the Boston Tea Party.

As a result of the Congress, a list of petitions was sent to King George III to ask for compensation for the grievancies suffered. No answer was received and this would later lead to the Second Congress which served the purpouse of getting ready for the American Revolutionary War.
