Which of the following expressions is the inverse of the function y = x - 2 over 3?

To find the inverse, you can either do this:

y=(x-2)/3 *switch x and y

x=(y-2)/3 *multiply 3 on both sides

x(3)=((y-2)/3)(3) *the three cancels out on the right side

3x=y-2 *add the 2 on both sides

3x+2=y-2+2 *simplify

Final answer should be : 3x+2=y (inverse)
