How many solutions are there to the equation below ? 8x+47 =8 (x+5)

First, distribute the right side.

8*(x + 5) = 8x + 40

Then, we write the whole equation:

8x + 47 = 8x + 40

Looking at it, we can subtract 8x from both sides, so that we're left with:

47 = 40

However, we obviously know that 47 is NOT equal to 40, so there is no solution for this equation.
