turning the words into numbers

- x \leqslant - 18
the number that is larger the symbol eats :) if that helps you remember. to simplify divide the -1 from the X and the -18. now when you divide or multiply by a negative number with an equality symbol you have to flip the symbol. simplified looks like this

x \geqslant 18

Change from word form to numerical form

-x ≤ -18 is your answer

If you want x as the subject, divide both sides by -1. Note that when you are dividing by a negative, you must flip the sign

-x/-1 ≤ -18/-1

x ≥ 18 is your new answer
