to find area, multiply base x height, or length x width

In this case:

(x + 4)(x + 3)

Solve by foiling.

(x + 4)(x + 3) = x² + 3x + 4x + 12

Simplify

x² + 3x + 4x + 12 = x² + 7x + 12

x² + 7x + 12 is your answer

hope this helps
