Hello!

let's make the following solution:

-18*(2h+4)+12 = -74

-18*2h - 18*4 = - 74 - 12

-36h - 72 = - 86

-36h = -86+72

-36h = -14\:\:simplify\:by\:(-1)

36h = 14

h = (14)/(36)

h = (14)/(36)(/2)/(/2)

\boxed{\boxed{h = (7)/(18)}}\end{array}}\qquad\checkmark
