Identify the variables from the experiment below.

Timmy has decided he wants to test which if music can read help flowers grow. He decides to expose some roses to classic music 10 minutes every day. He will have another group of roses that will receive no music and a third group that will get music for 20 minutes per day. Timmy makes sure to have the same types of plants in each group and to expose them to music at the same time during the day. He also makes sure that all plants get the same amount of water and sunlight each day. At the end of 2 weeks, Timmy measures the height of all plants to see if the music made a difference.

Answer: Independent variable: Music

Dependent variable : Growth of flowers

Control experiment : Time of music, same amount of water, amount of sunlight, flower with no music.

Step-by-step explanation:

Independent variable can be defined as the factor which can be changed by the experimenter. Here, the type of music and time of music can be changed by the experimenter.

The dependent variable depends on the independent variable. The growth of roses is measured by the effect of music.

The control variable are the variable that is usually kept constant to determine the relation between the independent variable and independent variable.
