Answer:

Prefixes often added to S. I. units because this system is globally accepted

Step-by-step explanation:

S.I. is abbreviation for international system. International system of units is globally accepted. Thus, on international platform all physical quantities should be represented in S.I. system of units.

There are 7 fundamental units in S.I system 2 supplementary and many derived units are included in S.I. system.

While using another system of units create confusion on international level. Thus, to avoid confusion all prefix are added to S.I. system.

SI units (International System of Units) is a widely used modern system of measurements. For example: metre for length, gram for mass, seconds for time etc. Prefixes such as kilo
(10^3), Mega
(10^6), centi
(10^(-2)) are used before the SI units to make it more concise. For example: kilo-gram =1000 grams, 0.90 metre=90 centimeter etc.
