The cerebellum
The cerebellum is a structure that is part of the brainstem and is involved in maintaining balance and motor coordination. This is one of the first structures of the brain to be impacted by alcohol.
The cerebellum is a structure situated behind the upper part of the brain stem. The cerebellum is a small section of the brain and it is composed of two hemispheres. The cerebellum performs several functions such as maintaining balance, coordinating movement, vision (eye movements) and motor learning. The cerebellum also plays important roles in thinking and mood.
