Solve vw^2+y=x for w

1 Answer

The given equation is

vw^2 + y=x

And we have to solve for w .

For that we first get rid of y. And for that, we subtract y from both sides,

vw^2 =x-y

Now we need to separate v from w square, and for that, we divide both sides by v, that is

w^2 = (x-y)/(v)

Now to get rid of square, we take square root to both sides. That is

w= \pm \sqrt{ (x-y)/(v)}

And that's the required answer.
