Distribute 2 to all terms within the parenthesis.

2(8x - 4) = 16x - 8

Simplify. Combine like terms

16x - 8 - 2x = 14x - 8

14x - 8 ≤ 14x + 12

Isolate the x. Subtract 14x from both sides, and add 8 to both sides

14x (-14x) - 8 (+8) ≤ 14x (-14x) + 12 (+8)

14x - 14x ≤ 12 + 8

Simplify

0 ≤ 20 (True)

True is your answer

hope this helps
