The length of BC is 36. It is 36 because it includes BD and DC and BD and DC are equal to 18 so you have to add BD and DC to get 36.

According to the markings, BD = DC. From this fact

BD = DC

BD + DC = BC

18 + 18 = BC

BC = 36 <<<<<< Answer
