Hello!

let's make the following solution:

- (14w + 8) + 8 = 3

we eliminate the parentheses and change the signs

- 14w - 8 + 8 = 3

we eliminate the opposite numbers

- 14w - \diagup\!\!\!\!8 + \diagup\!\!\!\!8 = 3

so:

- 14w = 3\;\:(simplify\:by\:-1)

14w = -3

\boxed{\boxed{w = -(3)/(14)}}\end{array}}\qquad\checkmark

ps: the answer is correct, the question was poorly worked out with the wrong feedback.
