  • Alternate Interior Angles: They are angles that are diagonal from each other. They are formed by two parallel lines being crossed by a transversal, and are congruent to each other.
  • Linear Pair: Pair of adjacent angles formed when two lines intersect. They are supplementary, or add up to 180°

Starting with ∠2 , ∠2 is an alternate interior angle to 113° angle. Since Alternate Interior angles are congruent to each other, this means that ∠2 is 113°

Next with ∠5, ∠5 and 113° angle are a linear pair. This means that they are supplementary, or add up to 180°. Using what we know, we can solve for ∠5's degree as such:


\angle\ 5 + 113\text{\textdegree} = 180\text{\textdegree}\\\angle\ 5=67\text{\textdegree}

∠5 is 67°
