His speed is
`2(1)/(4)` miles per hour.

First we will con vert this mixed fraction to improper fraction.

`2(1)/(4) =((2)(4)+1)/(4) =(8+1)/(4) =(9)/(4)`

We know that 1 hour = 60 minutes.

So Timothy covers
`(9)/(4)` miles in 60 minutes

He covers 1 miles in
`(60)/(((9)/(4) ))` minutes

He covers
`(3)/(4)` miles in
`((60)/(((9)/(4) ))) ((3)/(4))` =
`(((60)(4))/(9)) ((3)/(4))` ( As when we divide fractions we will multiply the reciprocal of it)
