In order to figure this out you have to divide the values of the new triangle (DEF) by the values of the original triangle (ABC).
Line DF and Line AC --> 9 / 3 = 3
Line DE and Line AB --> 6 / 2 = 3
so, you can conclude the scale factor is 3.
