Given equation:
(1)/(2) (x+12)= 4x-1

Multiply both sides by 2.

(2)/(2) (x+12) = 2(4x-1)

Distribute 2 to the right side.

=>
x+12 = 8x-2

Add 2 on both sides .

x+12+2 = 8x-2+2

Subtract x on both sides.

x-x+14 = 8x-x

14 = 7x <=> 7x = 14

Divide both sides by 7

x=2.

Hence, there is one solution to this linear equation.
