In 1777 at Treton, took place a small but strategic battle within the American Revolutionary War. George Washington's forces fought against the Hessian, German military forces that complemented the English troops during the American Revolution.

Even tough the Hessians had the numbers, they lowered their forces because they tought the Americans would not attack. This American victory was important because it inspired others around the colonies to join the rebellion.
