For this case, the first thing we must do is define variables.

We have then:

x: amount of acres of corn harvested

y: number of hours

The corn rate harvested per hour is given by:

r = (x)/(y)

Substituting values we have:

r = (8+(3)/(4))/((5)/(6))

Rewriting we have:

r = ((35)/(4))/((5)/(6))

r = (210)/(20)

r = (21)/(2)

r = 10.5 (acres)/(hour)

Answer:

The acre rate of corn harvested per hour is:

r = 10.5 (acres)/(hour)
