What number could be added to 0.40mL for the level of precision to be 0.01 mL

I am not sure but check this out:

2.02 mL but im not sure if that's wright.

You're right. Then the other answers are 8.8331 mL and 0.154 mL

Let x be the number could be added to 0.40ml .

According to question

If the number x added to 0.40 ml then we get precise level 0.01 ml .

therefore, we make an equation by using of addition property

x+0.40=0.01

x=0.01-0.40

Because when we put a number from left hand side of equal to and put on right hand side of equal to then the sign of the number changes .

therefore, sign of 0.40 changes in to negative .

Therefore, by solving equation

we get x= -0.39

Hence, -0.39ml is the number that could be added to 0.40ml for the level of precision to be 0.01 ml.
