How many (whole number of) 76 kg people can safely occupy an elevator that can hold a maximum mass of exactly 1 metric ton? a metric ton is 1.000 Ã 103 kg. answer in units of people?

1 metric ton =1 *10^3 kg

If 1.000 means a thousand then the total number of people an occupy an elevator is


(1.000*10^3kg)/(76 kg) = 13.16

Thus, 13 whole number of people can safely occupy an elevator.
