Research questions such as, "How can we promote peace?" and "How can we help individuals become self-actualized?" would most likely be asked by a humanistic psychologist. Humanistic psychology has a holistic approach to human existence. Humanistic psychology is primarily focused on free will and positive development. They encourage their clients to make healthier choices. As such, they investigate positive personal transformations. Their attention is also focused on investigating human development in a social context. Social changes towards better condition, cultural and gender issues that may be forestalling positive growth etc. are also topics that humanistic psychologists often research. Positive social support is one of the most important components of the research being done in humanistic psychology. It's highly unlikely that psychologist who ground their research in the social, behavioral or psychodynamic perspective will ask these questions in a research.
