the rule is x + 3, so add -5 + 3 = -2

the x coordinate of P' is -2

the rule says to add 3 to the x-coordinate and subtract 1 from the y-coordinate

P' = (-5 + 3 , 2 - 1)

= (-2 , 1)

Answer: x-coordinate = -2
