Dimethyl sulfoxide [(ch3)2so], also called dmso, is an important solvent that penetrates the skin, enabling it to be used as a topical drug-delivery agent. calculate the number of c, s, h, and o atoms in 7.14 3 103 g of dimethyl sulfoxide.

The formula of DMASO is
[(CH_3)_2 (SO) ]

Mass = 7.14 * 10^3 g

Molar mass = 78 g
78 g DMSO contains = 6.02 * 10^23 atoms
7.14 * 10^3 g contains = (6.02 * 10^23 /78) * 7.14 * 10^3 atoms

= 0.55 * 10^26 atoms

As, there are 2 carbon are present in DMSO along with 1 sulfur and oxygen and it also contains 6 hydrogen.

Number of C present in DMSO = 0.55 * 10^26 * 2 = 1.102 * 10^26 carbons

Number of S  present in DMSO = 0.55 * 10^26 * 1 = 0.55 * 10^26 sulfur

Number of H  present in DMSO = 0.55 * 10^26 * 6 = 3.306 * 10^26 hydrogen

Number of O  present in DMSO = 0.55 * 10^26 * 1 = 0.55 * 10^26 oxygen
