Summery reporting system is the original aggregated crime data collected under the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. SRS defines eight crimes: murder and non negligent homicide, rappe (legacy & revised), robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, larceny-theft, and arson. In the summary reporting system, if a victim is killed during an armed robbery, the criminal event is homicide.

Homicide, the killing of one individual by another. Homicide is a general term and may allude to a noncriminal go about and in addition the criminal demonstration of murder. A few crimes are viewed as legitimate, for example, the killing of a man to keep the commission of a genuine lawful offense or to help a delegate of the law. Different homicides are said to be reasonable, as when a man murders in self-preservation. A criminal homicide is one that isn't respected by the material criminal code as legitimate or forgivable.
