Answer:

Volume of paper = 0.3553 cubic inches.

Explanation:

Given :

A sheet of paper is about 0.0970 mm thick.

Dimension of sheet of paper = Length * Width = 8.50 in.×11.0 in.

To Find : Volume of Sheet of paper.

Solution :

Volume of paper = Length * Width * Thickness

Since the units of each dimension must be same .

So, first covert thickness from mm into inches

1 mm = 0.0393701

⇒0.0970 mm =0.0970 mm *0.0393701 = 0.0038188976378 inch

Now putting all the values in formula we get

Volume of paper = Length * Width * Thickness

Volume of paper = 8.50×11.0×0.0038

Volume of paper = 0.3553 cubic inches.

Hence , The volume of sheet of paper is 0.3553 cubic inches.

Solution :

Given the thickness of a sheet = 0.0970 mm

and Length and breadth of the sheet = 8.50 in.×11.0 in.

To calculate the Volume of the sheet of paper in cubic inches , first we need to convert the unit of thickness of the paper , that is from mm to inches.

As we know , 1 inch = 25.4 mm
\Rightarrow 1 mm =(1)/(25.4) \:inch

so, 0.0970 mm = (1)/(25.4)* 0.0970 = 0.0038 inch

Volume of sheet =
8.50\:in.* 11.0\:in.* 0.0038\:in.=0.3553\: cubic\: in.

Hence, Volume of the sheet of paper = 0.3553 cubic inches.
