The tropical zones are based around the Equator and south and north of it to around 30 degrees (it can be a bit less or more, depending on the place), in this types of climates we have the tropical wet and tropical dry climates, were we have only summer, or wet and dry period.

The temperate climate zones are located between the tropical ones and the the polar ones, or rather at the mid latitudes. This types of climates have a clearly defined four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter, where we usually have rainy spring and autumn with pleasant temperatures, and warm and dry summer, and cold and snowy winters.
