The slope (m) of a line is found from

... m = (change in y)/(change in x)

... m = (22 - 0)/(-8-3) = 22/-11 = -2

The point-slope form of the equation for a line with slope m through point (h, k) can be written

... y = m(x -h) +k

We can use the pont (h, k) = (3, 0) and fill in the values:

... y = -2(x -3) +0

... y = -2x + 6 . . . . . . . simplified
