In this question , we have to find the rate of change that means we have to find the slope .

And for that we take two points from the graph

The points are (0,1) , (1,-1)

TO find the slope, we have to use the following formula


m = \frac{ y_(2) - y_(1) } { x_(2) - x_(1) }

Substituting the values from the points, we will get


m = (-1-1)/(1-0) = -2

So the rate of change is -2 and the correct option is the first option .
